Monday Motivation-9 Proven ways to motivate yourself on Monday!

With the rising sun and rising hope, Monday brings a ray of motivation for all of us. The beginning of the week starts with a zeal to try new ventures, passions, and promises.

I try my best to start my Mondays on a bright note, rather I start my Mondays on a peaceful note. Why? Because I wholeheartedly abide by the thought, “morning shows the day.”

I am sure that just like me, you also want to make the beginning of everything smooth. It helps us to stay connected while maintaining our calm. And that’s exactly how the beginning of our week should be, in peace and order.

While some of you agree with me, I am pretty sure that there are people who are scratching their heads to understand what and how they can keep their Monday Motivation caps on!

And what exactly is Monday motivation all about?

What is Monday’s motivation?

The thought, the idea to start Monday morning on a motivating note,to start the week with zeal and happiness towards life. That’s what Monday motivation is all about.

While I say that, I also want you to know that Motivation in life comes and goes. Some days when we feel happy and light at heart, we feel motivated. But on the days when things go off track, we feel sad/demotivated. So, you can’t always rely on motivation to start Monday or any day perfectly.

As a life coach, I have learned that all human emotions (including motivation) work in coordination with our brains. Our brain basically presses the triggers to feel motivated or demotivated.

 Happiness= motivation

Insults/sadness = demotivation

What we think is basically what we feel.

Why do people need Monday motivation?

While some of us feel thrilled to start our Monday mornings, there is a majority of us who feel sad that the weekend is over and the “normal” routine has to be followed.

Why is it? I feel that this change in the mindset is because of our choices in life.

People who follow their hearts and passions don’t ever need the motivation to start their days. Their work keeps them motivated. But those of us who are slogging our ass for a 9 to 5 job with a toxic manager, certainly need to feel motivated. Not just work, in general, also we come across a lot of situations, where we feel the need for motivation.

For example, we don’t need the motivation to go on a vacation, even if it’s Monday. But we do need the motivation to lose weight.

In other words, we need the motivation to start anything which is good for our better life but we are procrastinating for some reason.

Why is Monday hated?

Mondays are hated because Netflix and chilling don’t require motivation, but getting up and doing work surely requires a lot of energy and motivation.

As the weekend begins to end. People start looking at the long working week that lays ahead of them. 5 -6 days of commitment towards work with a fixed working schedule is obviously draining for so many of us.

Not only for official work, but I have also come across so many mothers who stay at home to manage the kids, feeling frustrated because of the hectic schedule during the week.

 Do teenagers/children need motivation?

Motivation for teenagers/children is something that is rarely spoken about. We, adults, are so engrossed in our own routines that we hardly realize the importance of motivation in kids.

We adults/parents often say no to kids. Keep correcting them with whatever they are doing in our loud dominating scary voices. Without realizing its adverse effects on the young hearts.

As a child grows from an infant to an adult, in between comes childhood where the child explores and learns. And children who have a rough childhood are generally seen feeling demotivated and broken. They obviously don’t have any motivation to start any work because from their past they have learned that they can be wrong. The fear keeps children demotivated.

How to start Monday on a positive note?

How to start Monday positively?

Feeling motivated on the first day of the week is a goal that we all want to achieve.

Motivation comes when you have your goals clear in your head. When you feel peaceful and calm about where you stand in life, which is not exactly how we all feel. So, to bring in the motivation, to start our Monday mornings on a peaceful note we can follow simple steps.

Here are some amazing steps that will keep you motivated on a Monday morning.

  1. Make a to-do list :  start your day by writing down whatever you wish to do in the whole day. Making a to-do list helps us to stay focused.
  2. Priorities : priorities stuff on the basis of importance. The things that you feel are important for you(pending official assignment or going to the gym) do them without waiting for motivation. What is important has to be done.
  3.  Add happiness : Every Monday, add one thing in your routine that makes you happy. Something that helps you to look forward towards Monday. Like watching a movie, having your favourite meal, speaking to someone who makes you smile.
  4. The grass is not always greener on the other side : We humans have a tendency to feel better when we know that we are not the only ones going through a messed up life. It just makes us feel lighter.

On that note, I would like you all to know that no one has a perfect life. Trust me on that, because this is one of the biggest lessons that I have learned as a life coach. No matter how flashy and blingy life you think your friends have, there is always something that is killing them from inside. So, stop feeling jealous, pull up your socks, and concentrate on making your life better.

  1.  Stay away from toxic people :

We all have toxic people in our life, who never fail to make us feel bad. Staying away from people who act as a hindrance in your growth helps us to grow and stay motivated.

  1. Add your hobbies to your routine:  Paint, draw, cook, do whatever makes you feel lighter. And if you can start your day doing something you love. You will surely have a peaceful start.
  2. Start with a cup of coffee in peace: Give yourself some me-time. Start by sitting calmly with a cup of coffee/tea before the morning hustle starts. Give yourself some. You deserve to give time to yourself, before you give time to the whole world.
  3. Meditate : It is scientifically proven that yoga and meditation act as magic for our mind and body. Adding them to our morning rituals is the most precious gift that we can give to ourselves. It will help you to stay calm and focused.
  4. The 5-second rule :  There are days when we clearly know what has to be done. We know what is important but we just don’t want to do it because of laziness. On those days I would suggest you concentrate on the importance of work and say 5-4-3-2-1 in your head and take action. Sometimes taking action is the only way to feel motivated to reach our goals.

Conclusion: Monday blues are normal but sitting back and cribbing are not. Get up and make your Mondays as colorful as you want.  You are more powerful than you think you are.
